Sugar Fast Day 24
We’re over 3 weeks into this sugar fast and as mindful as I have been, there are so many times when I almost threw a half-eaten cookie left on the counter in my mouth or devoured a gummy unicorn my daughter got almost a month ago for her birthday. And not really because I wanted them, just simply out of a mindless habit that I’ve acquired.

Sugar Fast Day 23
Happy Day 23!
We live in a society of comfort. We want all of our needs met all of the time. And if they’re not, we sometimes have a wee bit of a meltdown. I have been in a chaotic season of life, that I strive to find balance and grace in, but at times fail to do so. I get anxious and stressed and am quick to flip my lid. All things that I am constantly working on being better at.

Sugar Fast Day 22
Is there anything that you are clinging to out of fear of losing? Is there something in your life that you know you need to allow to lessen its grip on you? Is there change or transformation that you know you need to embrace, but you’re so terrified of losing your tradition or routine that you avoid it at all costs?

Sugar Fast Day 21
Day 21 is here! Today we must remember where we came from and persevere. I think sometimes we lose sight of all we’ve accomplished, whether it be in life or specifically during this fast. We become discouraged looking at the long road ahead, instead of reflecting on the journey and growth already achieved.

Sugar Fast Day 20
And just like that we’re halfway through! Day 20 is here!
How does that make you feel to know that everything is downhill from here? I hope you feel inspired and motivated.

Sugar Fast Day 19
On this Day 19, as we approach the halfway mark, I want to remind you to rest. Let’s look at today as a day to soak up the benefits of this fast.

Sugar Fast Day 18
Self-control. Why is it so difficult? Day after day, moment by moment I’m trying to nurture my children’s ability to exhibit self-control. Woooo and man is it HARD! And in turn it challenges your own ability to show it as well. I just want to screammmmmmmmmm!!! No, I must resist and breathe.

Sugar Fast Day 17
I talk too much. Or rather, when I talk, I babble on too much. I am fully aware that what I say needs to become more direct and full of substance. At times, I speak without thinking first. Do you do the same?

Sugar Fast Day 16
We’re a little over two weeks into this sugar fast now! Before you know it, we’ll be at the halfway mark.
Today is a reminder that sugar isn’t bad.

Sugar Fast Day 15
It’s Day 15!
Most nights I stay up late to get things done. These days that’s the only time when I can sit down without distractions and organize life. Before beginning this fast, that may look like me grabbing something sugary to give me a little late night surge of energy to help me get through. These days it looks like me sipping on a cup of chamomile tea.

Sugar Fast Day 14
We’re two weeks in now. Day 14 is here!
How are you feeling? Have you been checking in with your heart? Have you discovered anything else that you run to instead of sugar? I sure have.

Sugar Fast Day 13
We arrive at Day 13.
Everyone in my household relies so heavily on me. It’s a huge blessing, but it comes with a lot of pressure… pressure that sometimes I just can’t handle. Is there anything in your life that makes you feel the same?

Sugar Fast Day 12
Hello to Day 12.
I don’t know about you, but I really wouldn’t mind some blueberry pancakes or a cinnamon bun right now. Don’t do it!! Haha!

Sugar Fast Day 11
And just like that we’re at Day 11.
Today I’m struggling. Not with the ability to resist sugar, but with the ability to breathe and not let my sweet, adorable children irritate me. I’m struggling with the ability to exemplify the behavior I long to see in them.

Sugar Fast Day 10
Hello Day 10! We’re a quarter of the way through!
Have you ever hurt yourself when you thought someone had seen, only to realize that no one was paying any mind to you? It’s like a surge of disappointment floods into your heart, because you are so in need of empathy. We are beings in need of love and attention, and while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, this fast is not the time to grimace and groan in hopes that someone may feel your pain.

Sugar Fast Day 9
Today we welcome Day 9.
We’ve been on this sugar-free adventure for long enough that it’s become a routine we expect each morning. As we explore our hearts and minds, we come to realize our dependence on sugar, and all that it does to control our lives.

Sugar Fast Day 8
Good morning Day 8!
At the beginning of some of my yoga sessions, instead of setting an intention for the practice, I ask that you choose someone to honor throughout the class. Let’s do this today as we take on Day 8 of this sugar fast. Let’s honor someone. It can be anyone.
