Sugar Fast Day 25

When you’re feeling discouraged, do you turn to food? Or do you instead turn away from food? What is the relationship you have with your emotional state and your food intake? On this 25th day, let us examine what we eat and the reasons why we eat it. Do you run to grab something sugary, or anything for that matter, to try to get you through a meltdown from your kids, your spouse… yourself?

Today let’s turn our awareness towards the reasoning behind why we’re running to the food we eat. As always, let’s be mindful of what we’re doing while we’re doing it. Even as you continue to eliminate sugar for these next 15 days, let’s still be aware of the other foods we are allowing ourselves to eat and when we are eating them. Slow down. Be still. Maybe wait a moment and have some quiet time before you fill your hungry belly. Let’s see what we find in those quiet moments. Let’s allow our hunger to propel ourselves into a place of self-discovery, where amazing things are awaiting us.
