Get Ready for Sugar Fast 2025
It’s almost that time of year again. Sugar fast time! Time for a reset. Time to get rejuvenated and empowered. It’s so exciting and something to really look forward to!
Right now, your mission is to begin to get prepared for our 40-day journey without sugar. It’s important to take this time beforehand to start getting organized and answer some questions as to what your sugar fast journey is going to look like. Without a doubt, we are in this together, but this adventure is unique to you and what you are in need of. While I will be here to motivate and guide you, it’s crucial to always do what is intuitively right for you along the way. So while we prepare to begin our challenge on Monday, March 10th, I want you to consider these few questions:
Why are you doing this? Dig deep. Take this time to mediate on why you want to do this for the next 40 days. Is it simply physical, or are there emotional, psychological, and spiritual components to it for you as well? Define your “Why”, so that you establish a clear intention.
For me, I’m doing it to reset. That means my physical body, but also my mind, heart, and soul. I incorporate other resources to set my sights on something bigger and better than myself. I do it annually as a way to transform and rejuvenate those parts of me that have become stale.
This is a sugar fast, so obviously that means we are fasting from sugar, but that can be a bit broad, so what does that specifically mean for you? This is the time to set your parameters. Are you sticking to only cutting out refined sugars? Are you going a bit further and eliminating fruits as well? So, what exactly are you eliminating from your diet, and what are you allowing yourself to eat and drink?
I believe a sugar fast should have a balance of being challenging, while also being sustainable. Meaning that if we want any sort of transformation in our lives, then we must challenge ourselves, we must leave our comfort zone and get a bit uncomfortable at times, otherwise things just stay the same, right? BUT, with that being said, we also want it to be achievable, sustainable, and ultimately enjoyable. So when I consider what my parameters are, I make them challenging, but doable. I believe food that is whole and from nature is full of nutrients, so I allow myself to eat various fruits and honey, among other things.. But I make sure to cut out my vices, (and the more obvious sugars), like my sugary coffee creamer and those sweet treats late at night. Remember what is most important is to do what works for you, your unique self, and your lifestyle. What do you need from this sugar fast?
I am incredibly grateful for each of you, and I am thrilled to embark on this new adventure with you once again.
Take care and stay well,
-Tara xo
