Triggers
It’s no coincidence that there’s scribbling from one of my children all over the cover of my copy of the book, Triggers, by Amber Lia and Wendy Speake. Which little one is the culprit is still TBD. The cover depicts a young woman screaming, frustration pouring out of her like a waterfall. I see myself in her at times. In fact, one of my kids, (I can’t recall which one, but probably the guilty one), saw the cover awhile back and said, “Mommy, is that you?” Which of course only made my anger mount even more, just the reason why I need the sage, Godly advice of the book. Ha!
If you’re a mother, or a person for that matter, I bet you have had moments of anger that you wish you could take back. Maybe you haven’t, but I sure have. There are things in life that trigger our anger and frustration and insecurities, and let’s be real, moments where we might even explode.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I really benefit from direction and starting my day off with something to guide me. With the sugar fast over, I need something else that will take its place as a guiding light each morning. So, I’ve decided to read through the book I’ve had for a while entitled, Triggers-Exchanging Parents’ Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses. My plan is to read a chapter a day. So, if you want to join me on this new journey, please do! As always, you can join along with me in real time or do it at your own pace when it’s the right time for you. Either way I’ll be checking in to see how you are! Take care and as always, thanks for being with me.
